Role: Creative Director + Designer Type: Naming, Branding + Web Year: 2025
overview
Prevail Salon is a modern hair and makeup studio located in Long Island, NY, founded by a young entrepreneur with a vision to create an uplifting, feel-good space for beauty and self-expression. From the start, the goal was to develop a brand that felt grounded yet aspirational—blending boho influences with a polished, professional edge. I led the creative direction for the project, including naming, branding, and web design, helping bring the founder’s dream to life both visually and verbally.
problem
The salon was a brand new business without an established identity, and the founder needed more than just a logo—she needed a full brand story that captured her spirit and stood out in a saturated beauty market. It had to appeal to a younger, style-savvy clientele while also feeling welcoming and accessible to the local community. Without a clear name, aesthetic direction, or digital presence, she risked blending in rather than standing out.
solution
I started by crafting the name “Prevail”—a word that communicates strength, resilience, and beauty through transformation, aligning perfectly with the founder’s mission. From there, I developed a full brand identity with earthy tones, elegant typography, and free-spirited visual elements that reflect the salon’s boho-chic vibe. The website design followed suit: clean, inviting, and mobile-optimized, featuring intuitive booking and strong visual storytelling to connect with customers from their first click.
